SATA1 and SATA 2

I'm presently running a few SATA II 320s and I'm thinking about throwing an older 120g SATA I in for my "backup docs". I running out of space.

Will doing this "slow down" my SATA IIs? Does the slowest drive control the speed of all drives like in PATA? I'm using a striker extreme mobo.

Thanks in advance.

It will not slow down anything as each port is basically a "master" of IDE with no slave.

They play very well together.

Most drives will not even max SATA 1 speeds, much less the elusive SATA 2 speeds.

In essence, they are the same.

Good Luck!
