Hey all...
I am about to install a new SATA raptor drive ( 36GIG) in my system that currently has older 40 and 80 gig IDE drives. My question is if I just plug the SATA one to the connector... does it share the bandwidth with the IDE ones? In theory the 2 drives I have now are connected to each other on the same IDE controller from the board and are those sharing the bandwidth? I will keep the OS on the 40 GIG that I currently have and will just install all my games and hardcore applications on my Raptor... is this a good idea? I want to be able to run multiple things (I have 2 monitors and routinely have stuff on one going like a game and maybe on the other I have an app where I am posting or working). anyhow trying to figure out the best way to set up the new Raptor. Of would it be just better to have the OS on the raptor and then run the games from one of the other drives...
Thanks
