I am not sure if such a thing exists, as my googlefu has failed me. However, what I am looking for, is a way to USB 3.0 ports to a PC via an expansion card that plugs into SATA connection on a laptop. IE, pull my optical drive, and plug in an expansion card into it, that interfaces with the sata 6gbs connection on the inside, and has usb 3.0 ports on the outside.

I should expand. I have found several adapters that have a mico sata connection on one side and a usb 3.0 cable, the purpose of which would be to hook up a micro sata hdd as a usb drive to a pc.

What I am looking for would be something similar to the pci express cards that add additional usb ports, only instead of plugging into a pciexpress or mini pcie, it would plug into micro sata and offer 1 or 2 usb 3 ports.

It probably doesn't exist, or probably can't, but if it does, I am sure one of you here would know about it.

Something like this?

Edit: No wait, I'm guessing you want the USB to be female. Hmm...

Such a device is not possible because USB3.0 has a lot of capabilities that can't be translated into an SATA channel.
