SATA stopped being detected by BIOS

After a week of troubleshooting internet/network issues for a client, I finally had everything just about fixed. I had noticed last week that the server didn't have adequate cooling so having made a note to install a new fan, I figured I would do it while I was finishing up the networking issues so as nto to keep the server offline for too long.

This is where Murphy's Law comes in.

So I turned off the server and unlocked the side of the case. I wanted to install the fan in front of the harddrive so I unhooked the drive and took off the cage mechanism, installed the fan and then plugged everything back up. Big deal right?

When I went to turn on the server it wouldn't detect the HD. It's a 74GB Raptor and the server has been operating perfectly for almost a year now. The drive still powers up as I can feel the vibrations, and not a single thing was changed in the system aside from adding the fan.

I've literally spent the past 7+ hours trying to figure this out and fix it. I'm desperate.

Specs:
Asus SK8V (VIA VT8237 Southbridge)
WD 74GB Raptor SATA drive

Anyone have ANY ideas?
