sata shows at start up but not in windows

i installed a sata pci card, and when it posts it shows in the drive in my primary slot, but it is nowhere in "my computer" in windows i also tried to load windows onto it, or format it or something, but it isn't there when i boot from my windows cd. what am i missing. thanks for any help.

The Windows install CD won't recognize a SATA drive unless you press F6 when it asks if you need to install scsi/raid drivers and then you need to have a floppy with your SATA drivers on it.

Format the drive from Disk Management under Administrative Tools in the Control Panel in Windows XP. Easier than booting from the winCD. (if the drive isn't listed there, you need to install your sata drivers)

is there any way of getting arround a floppy drive because i don't have one and i don't have the drivers

no there isnt and yes it pisses me off to an extent very hard to explain that in the year 2004 im still dependent on a $/(<ing floppy drive.

id get a teac floppy with card reader btw so it doesnt feel so much as a waste of an 3.5" bay. only 28 bucks too. at least youll be able to fill the card of your cellphone with mp3 then.
