I have a 200 gb seagate sata, and it comes up as an ide device in the bios. Does it matter? Windows sees it as sata. Also, how do I enable NCQ?

Doesn't matter, you're board needs to support NCQ. If it does, it will be an option in the BIOS somewhere

Also, NCQ would most likely slow your system down unless you are running a file server

I have the same problem. On my Asus A8N - SLI all SATA drives are recognized as IDE ATA133 drives. What gives? When i try to install the nVidia IDE drivers my comp BSODs and i need to restore to last working settings....

I think what you're seeing is just your nVidia SATA controller acting as a standard IDE controller. I enabled the nVidia SATA controller on my nF3 board and Windows went "aha aha, two new IDE ports." I see nothing amiss with that, it means I could set up Windows on an SATA drive without needing any SATA drivers on floppy for one thing.
