SATA RAID on ZNF3-150 Problem

Ok I just purchased two 36GB sata hard drives and I am trying to RAID them. My problem is that when I try to configure them in RAID 0 they show up as one drive but its ~70Gb which isn't right isn't it supposed to just show up as one 36GB hdd? I have done IDE raid but have no expierence with SATA RAID.

The mobo is a Chaintech ZNF3-150 with a Sil3114 SATA RAID Controller

raid0 stripes the drives, so you will get the combined storage space of the drives. ~70GB should be fine.

RAID 1 mirrors them, so the data is on both drives at the same time, so you would only have half of the total drive space available.

Oh, I always thought that striping wrote data across the drives but made 2 drives seem like one so that 2 36GB would show as one 36GB. Is IDE RAID the same? Cause when I used to do IDE RAID two drives were one drive of the same size...

RAID is RAID is RAID. You must have been using RAID 1 instead of RAID 0.
