I have a friend who wants to set up 2 of his brand new 120GB SATA drives in a Raid 0 array. He wants to use his old 60Gb drive as the master drive (System files, OS, etc) and use the other two 120's as his Gaming, MP3, storage area.

He wants to know if he can set up the 60Gb as the master drive while using the paired 120s as a slave. Having no experience with setting up RAID arrays I thought you guys would have a better answer.

Yes .. definitely .. I have the same set up.

By the way ... FYI .. an old 60 GB will be much slower than brand new raided drives. Hence you applications, boot etc. might be a little slower to start .. but then .. as you said, once working .. the raid drives are an ideal choice for Gaming, MP3 and other fast retireval storage area ..
