SATA RAID - 2 WD Raptor 36GB - Is it faster?

Im trying to prove or at least show someone that having this combo will improve their desktop performance. The workstation is used for graphic design (Freehand,Photoshop,Corel) How can I show through ordinary desktop methods that it's faster?

Thanks

Er...by running one of the programs you just mentioned and noticing the difference? If that doesn't work, then your friends right. Right? Or just link to a review (try storagereview.com) which may/may not mean anything at all.

If you are working with large files, it can make a differance, for normal every day things, you won't notice any kind of differance.

 eh...? 🙁

Maybe some specifics on what I should do in with the apps? or with file transfers maybe?

Thanks for the response.

Anand did an article with a bunch of benchmarks awhile back, look it up. In a nutshell the conclusion was that RAID 0 on a desktop is generally pointless. The tests include the Winstone Content Creation (which includes Photoshop among other thing and two Raptors in RAID 0 got a whopping 2.6% increase over a single) one and it shows little gain over a single drive. Though in some cases it may help more.
