SATA question

Is there any way that I can make a SATA hdd work as not being the primary HDD.
You see I've got a lot of stuff in my 2 HDD @IDE and I want to add a third SATA 200gb.
If I put it now can I use it in some way or do I need to reinstall Windows in order to use it? Thanks in advance

Is that for sure? I remember a friend that bought a 200WD and he couldn't boot bacause SATA should have been the boot drive

You shouldnt HAVE to boot from the sata. Check the bios and the boot order. If i am not mistaken my MB has seprate boot entries for SATA primary and IDE primary.

Yes. I have a SATA drive set up as a data drive for a primary EIDE drive. You control that is the BIOS boot sequence after enabling and installing the SATA BIOS and drivers.
