SATA question

Since most new mobos come with SATA RAID can I use an SATA raid bus as a standard SATA controller without using RAID? Just curious as to what options I will have open in the future on the new mobo I ordered (Abit IS7)

Yes. And by opinions do you mean the types of RAID setups? Right now its only RAID 0. I have no idea if they will be able to coax it to do RAID 1 with a bios update.

no I mean like can I run 1 SATA drive on the bus alone NO RAID

as for what I mean by options for the future I mean when I decide to upgrade to SATA drives
