Hi

I'm just in the process of looking at buying a new PSU (ready for my ASUS X800XTpe) and have a query regarding PSU's.

I'm looking at a Tagan 480w and it mentions seperate power connectors for SATA drives. Well... on opening up my case and having a loook, my Maxtor SATA drive has a normal Molex (I think they are called) connector, which then chains onto the graphics card! Must admit that I'm a little confused. I've checked maxtor's WEB site and the O/L manual for this drive shows a molex power connector in the diagram. If this is the case, what are these "special" power connectors for???

The power supply I'm looking at is the TG480-U22 (2FORCE) 480w. I'm assuming this will fit ok in my 18 month old MESH PC? IE. they are a "universal" fit?

Thanks...

It's a 'guess', but I believe that the 'special' SATA connector is designed for 'hot swap'. You wouln't want to do that with a 'normal' molex connector.
