sata ports

i have two sata2 hard drives and do i have to put them in the first two sata ports or it doesn't matter which port i can connect to?

i.e: 1 and 3 ports instead of 1 and 2 ports

It doesn't matter which ports you put them in unless you are running some kind of RAID.
