SATA Optical

I havent seen it posted anywhere but lite on has a sata optical drive CDRW/DVD for around 28.00 for those who dont want to spend $100+ for a plex sata dvd. Certianly works well with my DS3 and my particular setup. Flame me if this is a repost or something that is widely known by all, it was news to me.

That's pretty fresh news. I can find nothing on the web to corroborate it. Got a link?

Key thing being it's an old school combo drive (CD write, DVD read). Better to get a Hitachi-LG GSA-H30N or Toshiba-Samsung SH-W163A whether it means importing or waiting a li'l while for them to trickle into North America retail, even if OEM. HP, for one, is including the HGL in systems.

Pwned indeed lol.

I wish there were DVD burners for SATA in Canada.

And not that ghay Plextor either 🙁

Sh!t, I'll buy it just 'cause I want a SATA optical drive and get rid of the damn IDE cable. Is this the only SATA optical drive besides the hella expensive Plextors? Found the $20 Lite-On DVD-ROM. 'Cmon Lite-On/NEC/BenQ, come out w/ some SATA DVD writers already.

In other news, the $700 Sony Blu-Ray drive is PATA and not SATA. WTF?
