SATA Optical Drives

Anyone know of any current or soon to be released SATA optical drives ? (ie dvd burner/reader ; cd burner/reader).

Thanks

Nope, but I don't see a need anytime soon. I think they have 33mbps connections right now, but I may be wrong so don't quote me on this as usual, hehe

I suppose the usefulness of this would be the increased airflow with the use of only SATA cables... but for that I think you could just use on of those seriellel(?) port offered by some mobo manufacturers!

Don't hold your breath but I'm sure all such internal drives will transition eventually because while there won't be any cost difference it can be touted as a new feature while mainboard's can be made a bit cheaper by not having both.

I read somewhere that its going to be at least another year before optical drives use the SATA interface. That could have changed though.
