Hi all

How do I get my asus MOBO to recognise my SATA 37 Gb raptor drive?

In BIOS I have primary boot set to SCSI, I have the SI 3112 drivers on a floppy, I install these during the WIn2K install, but still this drive is not visible to my machine.

what am I doing wrong? I see that many people have an SATA drive as their primary boot and an IDE drive as a secondary, but I cannot get my machine to recognise the SATA. It does not even sound like it is spinning.

Could it be DOA?

Follow the instructions in your motherboard manual starting with page 5-13. The SI is a RAID controller, so you need to define your drive as an array, or the controller will have nothing to offer to Windows Setup when Windows comes looking.
