Installed a SATA drive for the first time as a second drive, first drive is IDE. My plan was to use Norton Ghost to compy existing drive to SATA and switch over. After connecting the drive and booting the system it shows up as a removable drive in the remove safely icon at the bottom and under drives in the system hardware but does not show up in the drives under my computer. Is this right or do I need to do something else?

could be...

1) need to run the installation software
2) you have a gigabyte 965P-DS3 mobo, are on the wrong plug and/or have the bios options set incorrectly
3) need sata drivers

If it's a retail kit, run the software that came with the drive. If it's OEM, you should be able to download it from the manufacturer's website.
