Sata II, Sata 150, and ata 133??

I just bought this mobo http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813188002 and I want to get this hard drive http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16822144421 are they compatible?

If you don't want to click the links, here are the specs. The hard drive is a Maxtor DiamondMax 10 Serial ATA 150, and the mobo eVGA 11-K8-NF41 says it supports ATA 133 and SATA II, but it says nothing about SATA 150. Can I use this hard drive with this mobo, I appreciate any help you can give, I was just about to order when I noticed this.

Thanks so much for the speedy reply, this is my first build so I'm hoping everything works out ok. I have never really noticed any of those things until now, thanks again. So what is the difference between SATA II and SATA 150 if they are compatible?

SATA II is essentially an updated version of SATA 150. One has a bandwidth of 300Mbps the other 150Mbps. It's a similar idea between the USB 1.1 and 2.0 upgrade. Both use the same interface connections, but one is tweaked to provide higher bandwidth thus a possible increase in speed. For the most part you can see the increase in speed with USB 2.0, but with SATA there is very little difference because the harddrive is limited due to it's mechanical nature; ie it's difficult to get information off the platters any quicker than what is available today.

also, most sataII hdds need to be turned on as sataII, they come as sata. and you will really only notice differences in benches when using 3+ sataII hdds in a striping raid, something i would definately not do because you will not benefit much if at all for a normal machine.

in short, at this point in time 3 hdds that are equal in specs except for the interface will perform the same because the don't even use the full bandwidth of ata100/133 at this point because they usually have a burst of <100MB/s and a str of ~50-60MB/s.
