SATA I and SATA II Cable Difference

I've got the Asus A8n-SLI Deluxe MB that has 4 SataI and 4 SataII ports. 4 of my 6 drives are SataII. I have 2 of them on the SataII ports with the original sata cables that come with the motherboard. My question is how the heck can I tell if the cable is SataII compliant? Also, what is the difference between a SataI and SataII cable?

There is no difference. You can use any SATA cable for any SATA device. There might be differences in how they attach, such as clips and the like, but the internals of the cable are the same.

yeah, after doing a hand full of searches and reading I did find no difference other than what FullMetal Chocobo says. Community don't get fooled, you don't' need to get new cables.

Ones that claim SATA-2 capability may have a bit better shielding and most all have the metal retaining clip on them (but some SATA cables have the clip too).

There is a difference - not in the cable properties though. All that SATA-II changed is that the plugs now have retention clamps that keep them from falling off all the time.
