SATA HDD wont work

Bought an 80GB SATA HDD a couple of days ago its a maxtor 6Y080M0. Connected it to the primary channel of my Asus A7N8X Deluxe. Booted it and it was detected by the SATA Raid screen after POST. Booted into windows, installed the drivers and SATARaid software, although i dont want Raid it showed me that the HDD is connected and working properly. Only problem is it wont show up in windows. Im unfamiliar with these drives have i missed something?
 
Start>Settings>Control Panel>Administrative tools>Computer Management>Disk Management, then format the drive.
