SATA HDD not recognized

I've put together the "Cutting Edge System- March 2004" from Anandtech and I'm having a problem.

The motherboard doesn't seem to know I have a SATA HDD attached to it, so when I try to load Windows XP, it says install can't continue without a mass storage device. I've contacted Asus and they tried having me put a floppy in with the new Promise Raid drivers and the same thing happened. Did anyone else have this problem building this system?

The motherboard recognizes my hard drive and I've also pressed F6 when Window XP tells me to and inserted my disk with the Promise Raid drivers on it. Then Windows does its thing for a few minutes and a screen comes up saying Windows will not install because I have no mass storage device.

I'm puzzled.

You might need to update your bios in order for the m/b to see the HD. Just a side note, have you read through the manuals with step by step instructions?
