Sata HDD install

Ordered my first sata hdd and just installed it. I can see it within Device Manager, but it it's not listed as a drive. Under the properties for the hdd, in the volumes tab, after clicking populate, it tells me the drive's status is "not initialized." MSI K8n Neo2 Platinum motherboard. I'm at a loss, any ideas?

edit

and the it also says the "device is working properly" under the general tab.

Start > Run > diskmgmt.msc and you get a window sort of like this one. Your drive should be listed there. Right-click on its square where it says Disk 3 or whatever, and you should see what to do. After it's initialized you can right-click the white bar that represents its capacity and make a partition, format, etc.
