Hey dantonic,

I had this problem too. However, I think that my drive is just bad. After my build, I had this strange "clunk, clunk, clunk" sound. Then it would go "boing" and start over again with the clunking. It was pretty regular. I finally pulled the power plug to the drive (during other troubleshooting, I just pulled the data cable out). Now, I don't hear those sounds. So, if your hear weird noises that you cant quite locate....

Yes I was able to install the 3rd party drivers...

Windows sees the drive but when I get to the format screen it will not format it just stays stuck at 0%.

I am going to try another sata cable, and see if I can get another HD to test it out as well.

If you have any other suggestions that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

If this is a SATA II drive, try using the jumper settings to set it for SATA I operation.

If that is the equivalent of setting it to 1.5 instead of 3.0 I already did that.
thanks
