SATA hard drive problems/updating BIOS

I just built a computer with a Soltek SL-K8Tpro-939 board in it. I'm trying to install a 80 gb seagate SATA hard drive, but neither the BIOS nor the windows xp installation recognize it. It was suggested to me to update the BIOS, but after downloading the content from their website, I don't know how to actually install it. It tells me to put the .bin file, Io.sys, and awdflash.exe onto a diskette. Now the bin file and awdflash.exe are self explanatory, but IO.sys is not in the zip file that I downloaded. Plus, the floppy drive on my new computer doesn't work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
