Hi, I have a maxtor 200gig sata drive and is recognized in hardware manager in windows, but It doesnt show up in my computer. So I am thinking it needs to be formated, yet I cannot access the drive from a boot disk because its not recognized and I cant format it in windows. My questions is is there some software or something that I can use? I bought the drive only and do not have any of the original paperwork or diskettes. Thank you.

If you're running WinXP, which I think you're, do Run > compmgmt.msc Then click on disk management. You'll see the new HD there, in black. Right click it, initialize, partition, format. Done. It'll show up in My Computer afterward.
