I have a Seagate ST3250410AS 7200.10 250GB internal SATA hard drive, and a Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H (rev. 1.0) motherboard.

My SATA hard drive isn't detected by any software programs such as Speedfan, Hardware Monitor, or Everest Ultimate. Also, I'm not able to monitor the drive temperature with any program, or run any S.M.A.R.T. or other diagnostic tests on it with any software. When I open the device manager, it lists the drive as ST3250410AS SCSI disk drive (however it's a SATA drive not SCSI)

In the motherboard BIOS, I have HDD S.M.A.R.T. capability enabled, the Onchip IDE Controller is disabled, the OnChip SATA Controller is enabled, and the Onchip SATA Type is set to AHCI.

My computer does work, and the operating system loads fine, however my hard drive is not detected by any programs. I would like to be able to run S.M.A.R.T. and diagnostic tests on it, as well as monitor the temperature, however I haven't been able to figure out how.

I get a bit confused by the AHCI thing as I run just SCSI drives, but I think you need to feed a seperate driver for AHCI right?
