SATA DVD Drive not detected on MSI K8T Master2 FAR7

Help. Im sure its plugged in correctly, the SATA controller is enabled in the bios, i dont see a reason why it wont work. I had a DVD-RAM IDE drive installed before but thats been moved to the parents rig, the SATA DVD-RAM i have now opens and closes but its not detected in windows or the BIOS. Ive never dealt with SATA before so i dunno if the bios is meant to show anything.

One thing thats probably worth mentioning.... I had alchohol 120% installed and it was emulating 3 scsi drives, each mounted with a different cd. Its uninstalled now though. Still no joy with the real drive.

Check to see if your mobo has a SATA jumper and if so, it's set to Enable, then, make sure you have the SATA driver installed.
