SATA DVD drive installation -- now HDMI won't work?

Hello.

I turned off my computer and connected my new SATA DVD drive to appropriate connectors. Turned it back on and then the computer turned itself off, then turned itself back on. There was no display detection coming in.

So I took out the drive and booted the computer back up. It turns on but now te display isn't working?

It's an HDMI display.

I'm not sure what to do.

FYI, I had to take out the RAM to try to make room for the hard drive (put the RAM back in afterwards). Not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Here's some more info:
Intel G2120
MSI Motherboard (with HDMI)
Radeon 6570 (with HDMI)

I tried my HDMI in both HDMI ports ... no luck!!!

Plugged HDMI into Xbox ... works.

So its not some random happenstance that the HDMI cord broke.

Did you first disconnect the PSU powercord from the wall outlet, then hold down the case power button to bleed off the residual current, before you started disconnecting the RAM modules? Clear CMOS and try it again.
