SATA driver install, keeps asking for floppy

Trying to install my Intel® Matrix Storage Manager SATA driver from my gigabyte Dg-6.

I hit "f6" then later on I am prompted for drivers.

I hit "s" then insert floppy with drivers on it, but Xp Sp2 keeps on asking for to insert "manufactured-supplied support disc".

All the drivers on on it, IAAHCI.INF, IAAHCI.CAT, IASTOR.INF, IASTOR.CAT, IASTOR.SYS, and TXTSETUP.OEM. Plus this disk is direct from INTEL's site. it formats and makes a floppy with these files.

I have created 3 disks on two different computers, same thing.

What the HELL is going on? It is like windows setup is ignoring the .OEM file

Nope I don't have a USB floppy, it is a mitsumi 1.44 plug 6in1 card reader media drive.

Update: It must be the floppy discs. Did a 4th floppy disc and the system read it. Weird!

Bucknasty, had same exact issue with my eVGA board this morning, tried loading the RAID drivers from floppy (mitsui too, not USB, although I tried and can confirm USB does not work for loading XP drivers on this mobo) and XP kept asking for the an attempt to read the file.

So I downloaded the .exe file from evga's website, burned a new floppy, tried again, same problem. Tried again with yet a 3rd floppy disk and voila it worked.

Finicky floppy disk drives? Why won't this technology die an honorable death as its 5.25" and 8" floppy drive brethren?
