SATA drive plug

Dont you guys think the sata drive plug it's too flimpsy(not snug enuf)? Even the power connector its kinda flimpsy too. I still think the PATA it much tighter than the SATA

It depends on the drive and also the cable. I have some Thermaltake cables that fall out all the time, but some of the cagbles that came with my motherboards fit very snugly.

They are pretty flimsy in that sense, but it's not a big deal if nothing is tugging on the cable. Gravity alone would never be enough to pull out a SATA cable. Just don't pull on it while it's running 😉

So you dont want that SATA cable coming out? Well, do what system builders do, hot glue it in and it'll NEVER come out again 😛

Or just use IDE 😉

It may be your drive or your cables. All my SATA devices are too tough.
I always need pliers to get the plugs off.

Funny, i was thinking the same thing! i guess just try some different cables OP, hopefully that will work, but yeah, as long as there isnt any pressure on the cables, i dont see why they would slip off anyways.

I found the same problem. The SATA pins on the drive are naked , and the connector does slip off easily. My solution - a piece of black electrical tape looped around the SATA connector and stuck down on the drive case. Has worked perfectly for over a year that way.

Abit KN8 I have.

Well, if it has SATA2 conections, it will have locking clips like mine on a Gigabyte K8NXP-SLi. Even without the SATA2 locking clips, the SATA cables r very good.

Exactly! 🙂

Yeah, it's flimsy, but nothing too extreme. And aren't they hot pluggable?? Well, as long as they're not the operating system drive, of course.
