2 things you need to do:

1. Update your motherboard BIOS
2. Install XP Sevice Pack 2 for the rest of the space to become available.

The mobo SATA drivers are usually found under RAID. Sata works off of the RAID controller.

If your new XP install was not slipstreamed with SP2, you need to install SP2 separately.

BIOS is where the SATA/RAID drivers are enabled. It then causes a RAID BIOS function to appear in the boot cycle where you usually have to set up a RAID type (single drive is striping, RAID 0) or it will not be functional.

But - if you see the drive as a smaller drive, apparently that is OK. What you need then is SP2.

And if your system is not working, and you may not have a burner operating, how are you going to do that? Since XP is already installed, the easiest thing is simply install SP2. You have to download it anyway to slipstream it. :)

His system is working, it's just not showing the full capacity of the drive. At least that's how I read it.

Sorry - but I saw no burner listed. Besides - why waste so much time?

waste so much time? Having a slipstreamed disc is very important.

but yeah, update bios, install sp2, get knoppix livecd, and ntfsresize
