SATA drive no being recognized

I installed the drivers when prompted during the XP setup, and it even says that it will use the SATA drive as its mass storage device but then goes to the customary screen stating that I don't have an HDD. What is the matter? I'm using an ASUS A8V Deluxe with a single Hitachi 160 GB SATA drive.

Are there RAID drivers vs. non-RAID drivers for SATA? If so, you may want to use the non-RAID set. I also presume that the SATA drive is detected during POST. Booting with a DOS floppy and running FDISK (or snagging the latest Gentoo/KNOPPIX disc) can confirm if your configuration is operational.
