I'm looking at getting an 8-port SATA controller card (PCI-e) for my ZFS system... but it seems many cards out there don't support drives larger than 2TB?

Anyone have a suggestion for a card that does support 2+TB drives and works with Solaris?

You need something with LSI SAS2008 chip. The 1068e based do not go above 2TB drives. One of the very popular ones used on ebay are the IBM ServeRAID M1015 cards. These are LSI 9220-8i cards running the SAS2008 controller. Be aware some do not come with the slot bracket so look for that if you need. They are a bargain for the prices you can get them used and are the best most compatible solution for Solaris right now.

PS- If you go with above you will want to reflash the card to an IT (non-RAID) firmware for the best possible setup with ZFS.
