SATA and PATA at the same time

heys this is a noob question, but how do i get both SATA and IDE drives working at the same time? everytime i plug in my IDE hard drives it wont even post into bios. I press DEL for bios but after it says entering bios the screen turns black...forever! I want my 150GB Raptor to work with my 4 IDE drives. I'm new to SATA so I don't really get it. I have a ASUS P5W DH mobo.
 
yea bios 1101 now i got them working but my old drives are reporting not formatted...meaning I lost all my stuff 🙁 Is there any program to recover that??
 
There are 2 IDE connectors on the board. The blue one next to floppy port is meant for optical devices ONLY. Look under the last PCI slot by USB connectors. You'll see the black IDE connector.
