SATA Adapters

Are SATA adapters just plug and play or do you have to set it up? I'm picking up a new asus mobo with SATA but my current HDD's are PATA and I want to pick up a couple of the promise SATA Adapters from newegg. Is there going to be any conflict with my hard drive?

i think you need SATA drivers, not completely sure

Most likely. Though I dont understand how you would get the drivers on the drive and boot off of it if you didnt have the drivers. WTF?

run it thru IDE, get drivers (which should come with the mobo CD), then go SATA i guess
