Im saving up, soon Im going to buy a 300GB SSD so I can put all my stuff on it plus Ill have 3 hard drives. it will be the main OS and application drive, Then I get another SSD like 128GB for my DAW drive and all samples etc.

My question is is there a slot SATA 3 card so I can use SATA 3, or will I have to use SATA 2 unless I have a sata 3 mobo.. hmm thx,,

cheaper cards will not fully satisfy the needs of a faster 6G SSD.

The cheapest and best bang for the buck at this point would be the Highpoint 2720 which runs about $150 once you get the required sas to sata breakouts for it.

Marvell just released the 9230 sata chip using PCI-e x2 lanes and may be worth the wait too.
