Sata 3 Connections

My new motherboard will have some Sata 3 connections on it. How can I take advantage of them. Will my new Seagate Barracuda hard drive use it? Will my new Optical drive use it?

Both of them can physically use them, but neither will see a benefit... They currently cannot use all of a SATA2 (3gbps).

I'm pretty sure you need a fast SSD to fully saturate a 3gbps interface...

Yeah pretty much the only peice of hardware that is going to benefit from being in a SATA3 port compared to a SATA2 port is a SSD.
