SATA 150 Recommendation Please

I have a pair of 7200.7 s, and I've never had a problem with them. They are quiet, reliable and the warranty is great.

Try http://www.storagereview.com/ from some harddrive reviews. The 7200.8 has been out for a while now, the 7200.9 should be out soon.

If you are buying SATA now, look for NCQ and the other SATA2 features for future proofing (i.e. when you move away from Socket A). Like IDE (ATA 33/66/100/133), SATA drives are reverse compatible.

evilharp, thanks for the link to SR. their review of the drive I'm considering was NOT good. I think I'll look for something else.

thanks again!

I have that EXACT drive, it is very nice and It is the best deal you can get out there. Plus you can't beat seagate I have had them all and I never had bearly any probelms with seagates. The only con on this drive is. When you are searching for something big or a large file you can feel the vibration of it seeking.
