There is a lot of information about the backward compatibility of a SATA300 drive on a SATA150 controller or mobo, but I can't seem to find any information as to whether you can take a SATA150 and use it with a SATA2 300 motherboard or controller.
For example, if I have a number of older SATA150 Seagate 7200.7 (ST3120026AS) drives that were used in older machines, can I freely use those with the newer motherboards that have SATA2 300 controllers. Will they universally recognize SATA150?
