SAT tutoring

I'm looking to start working with Kaplan part-time doing SAT 1 tutoring and classroom teaching.
Anyone been a tutor? How was it?

Also, anyone taken a class? How was your teacher? Did it help your scores? etc...

Thanx

I have tutored the Praxis I and Praxis II for teachers. It only works if the student wants to improve their scores. Beware of students who enter because they are forced to.

I used to teach SAT prep classes. My experience was not really a good one. The lesson plans were poorly done, the teachers (us) were given unrealistic deadlines to follow, and the administration was anything but helpful.

I maintain, after that experience, that the best way to study for the SAT is to buy 2 books from 2 different publishers, set your own pace (a very important step), and study in whichever fashion works best for you.

What sorts of deadlines did you have?
