If you took Pre-calculus, and did decent in it, take Math II. It has a much higher curve.

How do I decide whether to take Mathematics Level 1 or Mathematics Level 2?

Both are one-hour tests with 50 multiple-choice questions. However, the content differs considerably.

Mathematics Level 1 is designed for students who have taken three years of college-preparatory mathematics, including two years of algebra and one year of geometry.

Mathematics Level 2 is designed for students who have taken more than three years of college-preparatory mathematics: two years of algebra, one year of geometry, and elementary functions (precalculus) and/or trigonometry. If you have had preparation in trigonometry and elementary functions, have attained grades of B or better in these courses, and know when and how to use a scientific or graphing calculator, you should select Mathematics Level 2.

Math II - Precalc with a relatively better curve..

I'd say go for the Math IIC

I had an A in Chemistry last year and had an A for semester 1 of Physics this year, should I go for the Chem or Physics test? A friend told me that Chem was way harder, although he didn't do as well in Chem class.

Don't you still have another year of HS? You could take the SAT IIs anytime between now and the November that you are applying to college.

I would say it covers your general chemistry stuff. Nothing too hard or advanced. I would say it fell in difficulty like this NYS Regents (which is a big joke) <<<< SAT II Chem <<<AP Chem <<<<<<<<<<<<<College Organic Chem Midterm

As far as SAT II's I've taken (I may have accidentally switched my math scores):
9th: Bio-M - 750
10th: Chem - 760, Math Ic - 720
11th: Physics - 740, Math IIc - 710, U.S. History - 780

I would say taking a physical science SAT II looks better than a bio one.

Good luck with that. I applied regular decision myself (but sent it off 3 weeks before it was due), so I didn't find out until the end of March. Either way, now is the time to relax a bit (but keep up the good work) since apps are done.

Uhhh, if you're going for molecular bio, taking Bio is FINE. I took Chemistry because I took that in sophomore year, so in the beginning of junior year/end of sophomore year, I was able to score a 780.

You also NEED to get that 800 in IIC. What's the percentile for an 800? 80 percentile? It's not even impressive at all. If you're not getting that 800 in your IIC test, you need to shoot yourself. You're at a huge disadvantage if you don't get that 800 and you want to go into engineering/science.

Planned Major: Chemical Engineering

Chemistry is still fresh in my memory, I took Bio 2 years ago, and I'm currently taking AP Bio, but I think I might be better off with the Physics test; memorizing stuff for Bio isn't my thing.

I don't know about that, but I feel like Bio is the easy way out. Fewer people go on to major in phy-sci, so if you get good scores, they may think that you are talented in that area and would continue by pursing a degree in the physical sciences. This is all speculation though.

Back at home (in NY), biology was taken in 9th grade (honors) or 10th grade (regular), while Chem and physics were taken in 10(Honors)/11/12, so they probably viewed those classes as more advanced.

In the end, take whatever you feel most comfortable with (most likely the most recent science). If you are taking Physics this year, you may want to take the Physics SAT II in June and if you want the extra SAT II in science, take Chemistry in March/April/May, so you don't have 2 different types of sciences on one day.

You don't "NEED" an 800 in IIc (IMO anything above a 700 is fine). It looks nice, but there are other things that colleges consider when looking at your application. And if you don't select a major on an application, then who are they to know that you won't be a liberal arts major instead?

When I took IIc, 710 was 68th percentile.

If that's the case, just go with whatever you feel most comfortable with (probably Chem since you've taken the full year).
