[sarcasim] Yay!!!! [/sarcasim] Lexmark Z11 Win2k drivers Tuesday

NFS4

No Lifer
I just got off the phone with their technical support and they told me that they would be up on Tuesday (prolly another lie).

I asked what the f*&k was their problem (well not like that) and he basically gave me the whole spill that this printer wasn'tmade for NT/Win2k blah blah blah and the only reason they are readying the driver is because so many people have flooded them with requests 😉

It's a damn good printer with excellent quality printouts. Goes up to 1200x1200 and does color too (although never used the color yet).

<< Two days after you get Win2k drivers, your printer will die on you! >>

I sure hope not...this is a nice little printer. It's just the support that SUCKS!! 🙂

Actually, Lexmark's support was very good for me.

When my 3200 just appeared completely dead one day (not even the light switch worked), I brought it back to Radio Shack where it was sent to Lexmark's closest repair shop. It came back 3 days later with a new power supply, new transformer, realigned nozzles and new cartridges 🙂 (the ones in it when I sent it were half full), all free of charge off course.

😀

I'm surprised they even bothered considering it's a $65 printer. Not exactly made for a business environment, unlike W2K. 🙂

Hrm, i can get one for cheap as hell from work, and i dont have ANY printer... Then add the fact that there is a $30 rebate, should i pick one up, seeing how i am a Win9x junkie? 🙂

I'd be curious as hell to know if anyone got their Lexmark printer to do network printing? I USED to be able to, but I can't now, and their 'official' word is that they don't support network printing on their printer. I have an old 1000, but like I said, it USED to work fine. I've even tried their suggested workaround and captured the port on the remote computer to LPT2, and tried to map to it, but it still won't print. My wife is looking askance at me, wondering what kind of a tech I am that I can't get a simple printer to work. 😛

Damn those motherf*ckers :| :| :|. It might be a little printer but what has that to do with business-systems? My friend have a no-name old ugle duck printer, and that sh!t works in win2k. The only problem with z11 is that its a 'new' printer.

Use a bit of common sense here...what was win2k suppose to be in the first place???...It should have taken over win98 AND NT4. They couldn't finish it 'cause of major problems with the userinterface and bl.a bl.a. How the hell do you think MS would put to system together in one if the printers didn't work??...Give everyone a new printer if it doesn't work in win2k...or make ordinary printers work in win2k??...This is a hard one 🙂.

Lexmark is just BS'ing. They are a bunch a pricks with the greatest amount of stupid programmers I have ever seen...Stupid F*CKs :|

Caitiff: It seems like everytime something doesn't work they just fire up the old this-printer-isn't-made-to-do-this so they doesn't have to take responsebility for their actions. That was the exact same thing they said to me 'bout the printer-drivers :|

we used to sell these...some reason a lot of customers dislike Lexmark...only problem I can see from it is that it isn't the world's fastest printer. Other than that...works great from what i've seen.
