People can be held accountable in a compassionate way for the evils they commit
That onus would be on those wronged. For my part I have no desire to see more than justice done, not a "witch hunt" for betrayals of public trust,
that she recognizes as such.
When accounts are paid for such acts it is not just a matter of
what is done, but also
the intent, the state of mind, if an act was out of ignorance or willful. Our entire concept of justice, as flawed as it may rests on these. Without them there is no basis for punishment OR mercy. There can be no justice without understanding the particulars of specific acts. And so while I would not call for what I consider nonsense consequences such as criminal action, she has used willful intent to violate the public trust which has no justification, other than to shield the enormity of actions perpetrated against the citizen. I believe she is intelligent to know that, and so this is a case of "willful murder" of important truths.
If it offends her that she is called what she is then she has three choices, continue and not lie, resign, or continue and lie.
All are within her power but only two are honorable. The choice she makes creates the reaction she receives. "She shouldn't do that" gives her no pause, and so scorn is the inevitable consequence.
