Hey stupid: "... it seems like an UNreasonably intrusive approach to the problem."

UNreasonably
UNreasonably
UN UN UN reasonably

You have had this pointed out like four times now. Is any of it sinking in yet? L2read idiot.

Okay, I see where I misread your position, but I also see you made a "will of the people" argument to justify it. The reason for a Constitution and Bill of Rights and also a represenitive republic rather than a pure democracy is to protect minorities from the tyranny of the majority.

I made a "will of the people" argument to mock the tea party folks who yammered about it endlessly when public opinion polls were leaning their way. Of course these are largely the same folks who a couple of years ago, when polls were against them, insisted true leaders didn't care about public opinion, and that a leader needed to do what was right instead of bowing to the wind of popular opinion. They sometimes even pointed out that our representative republic was designed to protect from the tyranny of the majority. In short, I was amused by their hypocrisy.

Strawmen don't win arguments.

I'm sorry, I thought you were arguing for |freedom|.
If you are instead arguing for some arbitrary level of regulation based on your personal comfort level then... I find that completely uninteresting.

So I'll go groove to Vocaloids. Go Gumi!

A 90mm recoilless has quite a sound signature, the back blast is intense, you need an appropriate range for standoff, so yeah, I would not advocate casually USING it in NYC. On the other hand, why wouldn't you have a right to OWN one, if you were responsible in storing it and the ammo it uses?

Nonexistence is a better safeguard than liability.

But most people don't want a specialized toy like that. They want a concealable firearm for self-protection against predators. Why should the good citizens of NY, DC, Chicago not be allowed to protect themselves and their loved ones, while people who live elsewhere have that right? Why don't the citizens of NYC have the right to carry an equalizer when criminals hold to no such restriction?

See, I told you nonexistence worked better than liability.

Sigh. I was responding to your implying that gov't had zero role in free market capitalism, that things such as fraud were considered legal. I wasn't attempting to defend myself, just correct your statement.

I was just pulling your chain a little..hence the ^^;

Sarah Palin doesn't drive the left nuts. She excites them somewhat, in that if she were actually given the nom for GOP Prez candidate, she's seen as eminently beatable.

She insults the intelligence of at least half the country every time she opens her mouth, but she either can't see that, or refuses to. I can't call her stupid. She's at least intelligent enough to recognize and manipulate the less intelligent in her midst, and demonize some of those who are smarter, but Alaska is a pretty small pond.

Bottom line, she's kinda like my late grandma. She played the exact same games with people that Palin does. But, to Grandma's credit, she was she was a rather intelligent, and utterly relentless woman. She would have ripped off Sarah's head and crapped down her neck.

the Harvard,Princeton,Yale clowns only accept clowns from the same club. They get very agitated when someone shows up and threatens their racketeer scams. The voting public is wising up to the Harvard,Princeton,Yale clowns and are increasingly willing to change a failed paridigm.

Every post about Nancy Pelosi is countered with a post about Sarah Palin.. wash, rinse, repeat.

Is it too much to ask that both types of nutcases change the fvcking subject, already!

Really, how many dry states are there still? This meaning states that still ban the sale of Alcohol on Sunday? Don't try to pin governance on just Liberals, the Religious Right would like to add a whole BUNCH of laws to govern peoples behaviors.

It's always funny watching people equating the Religious Right with the political Right, since the Moral Majority are heavily entrenched with the democrats. In the 80's one of musics biggest enemies was Tipper Gore and her PMRC, and the liberal democrats, Jerry Brown regularly got ripped by the Dead Kennedys.

The two people I know who have had anything approaching being positive to say about Ms Palin pretty much were talking about how hot she is. These guys are Republicans.

Everything else I have heard anyone say about her was mostly about how concerned they were that she might get elected and that she could be responsible for the future of the US and the world.

I think she is popular enough with the Republicans that she could get the GOP 2012 POTUS nomination. But like the DE Tea Party\GOP candidate for Senator, she carries alot of baggage.

Yep. And the fact that the religious right's agenda has been dead in the water for the most part over the last 20+ years.

It must be kept that way. They shouldn't be ignored, which is what you seem to be suggesting is acceptable every time you talk about their agenda.

Yes! If we don't watch out it is highly likely that another Ad Abolendam will be issued and you will be questioned as to your heretical propositions. Don't think that what happened in Seville in 1506 could not happen in San Francisco in 2011!

the nomination of Sarah Palin would end the republican party as we currently know it.

more power to them if such political strategies intrigue them.

Hell, the Republican Party was down for the count before Sarah Palin and the Tea Party zapped them into viability.

Doesn't mean that Palin should or would run again, but by keeping the tension high she is doing her part to keep the patient from going into a relapse.

I am wondering if she can keep doing what she is doing for another two years or is it time for another player to pick up the ball.

At least until her looks go.

She is 46, she looks mahvelous with FIVE kids and a non-stop work and travel schedule.

TEN more years, at least!

Surely she will have enough experience by then, even for liberals! :awe:
