Share Comments 451 Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin -- who has gone to great lengths to hype the supposed dangers of a big government takeover of American health care -- admitted over the weekend that she used to get her treatment in Canada's single-payer system.

"We used to hustle over the border for health care we received in Canada," Palin said in her first Canadian appearance since stepping down as governor of Alaska. "And I think now, isn't that ironic?"

The irony, one guesses, is that Palin now views Canada's health care system as revolting: with its government-run administration and 'death-panel'-like rationing. Clearly, however, she and her family once found it more alluring than, at the very least, the coverage available in rural Alaska. Up to the age of six, Palin lived in a remote town near the closest Canadian city, Whitehorse.

Officials at several hospitals in that area declined to give out information on patient visits.

I don't think the Canadian system is better than the US system, even though I am Canadian. I think that having both a government and a private option is the best solution.

Let people choose for themselves.

OP Fail. How about correcting your thread title to accurately reflect the truth? You cant find enough truth in her that you resort to lying and misleading?

Title should say:

Sarah Palin Used to go to Canada for Health Care

According to the article, it implies until she was 6 years old.

🙄

The hypocrisy still stands

I have no problem with a government system as long as it is not financed by the taxpayers, IE it is financed by those who pay into the government system only. What Obama wants is to take hard earned taxpayer money and give it to people too lazy to buy their own health insurance.

How do you know they are lazy, maybe they are working 3 jobs but still can't afford insurance due to preexisting conditions?

You back people into a corner and they'll bite. You're hoping for that at this point. Goes along with the propaganda purposes of the OP's 'news'. Pushing an agenda and attacking your opponent while doing it.

Tough luck, life isn't fair.

It is because of dicks like you on the right that we no longer have a public option in the health care bill. Health care is a right, not some damn privilege. Gain some fucking compassion man, not everyone has it as easy as you do.

Just like the other thread where you were corrected ... the bolded has been happening for years. And quit with the "lazy" shit. It makes you look even dumber than you are.

She had no choice in the matter - she was SIX for pete's sake... As usual, Huff Post story = much ado about NOTHING.

You've seen me say for years that when you get enough people negatively affected they will band together and affect change.

It's happening more and more everyday.
