NEW YORK (AP) - Sarah McLachlan's audience has grown by one - the singer has given birth to a baby girl.
McLachlan and her drummer-husband, Ashwin Sood, are the parents of India Ann Sushil Sood, their first child. She gave birth on Saturday in Vancouver, British Columbia, according to a statement released Thursday by her label, Arista Records.
McLachlan has recorded hits such as "Possession" and "I Will Remember You," and is credited with creating the successful Lilith Fair concert tours of the '90s, which featured female artists.
The 34-year-old singer is due to release a new album later this year, Arista said.
