I really only like the first film of the series, but I was thinking maybe a TV show would be able to do some interesting things with the time travel elements and whatnot since they have more time to flush things out. Also I just learned Lena Headey is Sarah, so that is awesome.

Saw the Blu-ray set for cheap used around here and was thinking of grabbing it, but thought I would check with all of you attractive and intelligent people first to see if it was worth it.

Thanks.

Annoying is an understatement. It's a decent show, but the end just pisses you off.

Hmm, well that really stinks. Any other good sci-fi shows out there?

Fringe
Haven
Doctor Who
4400 (note, ends on a cliffhanger but is resolved in a book released after the show ended)
The 100
Eureka

Doctor Who has like 90 seasons! Fuck that. :D

A few of these I have not heard of though, thanks. I will investigate further.

Yes...I think I like it more than T2...well, there are certain moments at the end of season 1 and into season 2 that are superb.

But as others said: it was unjustly cancelled at a horrible fucking time. But yeah, it's worth watching. Real terminator stuff. Not that garbage that was T4.

Does the 100 get better? I started watching the first episode and couldn't finish it. Just horrible story, acting, writing. After that I started up Revolution, WAY better.

I second Fringe and 4400. Started The 100 but only got about 4 episodes in. Just got busy, but its still in my queue to watch.

you can skip everything before the 2007 (?) reboot and be just fine.

I thought it did, although the first few episodes were a bit of a slog... I think I eventually just skipped ahead to like episode 6-7 of the first season.

Hmm, I know you and I share the same feeling on the Terminator franchise so maybe I will give this a shot. Now that I have been warned about the crappy ending it may not bother me as much.

It sounds like Fringe and 4400 are contenders. Anyone have any further comments on Haven and/or Eureka?

was getting real good the second season with a lot of interesting implications for the terminator universe when it was canned.

The 100 gets way better. Revolution I couldn't make past 1-2 episodes, maybe it's a difference of taste, but I really like The 100. Season 2 is excellent.

Eureka is silly fun. It's not too serious, and it got a decent ending even though it did get reset a few times throughout the series. It's a fun show though to waste time with.

Haven is still going - It's ok, but I quit watching somewhere through season 2. It's kind of like Grimm if you've ever watched that. (But I think Grimm is better).

+1 for Fringe - it's a must see. The first 2 seasons may be great or not so great depending on your tastes, but the arc changes around season 3 and goes from monster of the week to an overall story that circles back to the things they've been doing the first 2 seasons. Unfortunately I would say season 3 is the lowpoint of the series. If you can make it through that, season 4 and 5 are pretty good and season 5 takes it full into closure with a completely different perspective that works well for the show.

The 100 starts off really poorly but vastly improves as it gets going. It is by no means great, but good enough to watch. It is a CW show so the typical high school drama, love triangle, etc are annoying elements of it.

So many darn shows that I missed because I never had a clue they even existed in the first place. I only knew of GRIMM out of all these shows you guys mentioned.

In a nutshell what the hell was Eureka all about? Antagonists were whom or what?

SCC is definitely still worth watching. It's very well done. Plus where else you going to see Shirley Manson play a T-1000?

I don't think the cliffhanger ruins the rest of it at all.

Edit: according to Wiki she's actually a T-1001 (second gen T-1000)

My take on Eureka is the government funds a small town where they send the geniuses of the world to work on crazy top secret projects. A smalltown cop takes a job there as the sheriff. The show is basically about things always going wrong with their experiments and him and his deputies having to save the town/world. There is more to it than that, but that is the overall story.

It has a bunch of cameos through out the series. Will Wheaton plays a complete asshole scientist. It is a more light hearted series than most as it is meant to be a quasi comedy.

Eureka is great.

Orphan Black is really good too (but much darker).

Somehow I missed out on Supernatural, and I'm currently plowing through it on Netflix.

Oh right, forgot about Orphan Black, been meaning to watch that one for ages. Thanks!
