Sapphire X850XT PE ???

Hi I just ordered this card from newegg and wanted to find out if anyone knew why this card was $119 and the regular X850 is $124 ?? I got the PE edition http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102052 Any one know ??? Thanks

Usually the Sapphire cards are cheaper than the equivalent from other manufacturers. Don't worry about the difference in pricing, Newegg is weird, I found the X800XT All in Wonder in 164 USD and also I found the X850 Crossfire Edition at 105 USD, great to setup a Crossfire System with less than 250 USD, being faster than the 6800 Ultra SLI and trade blows to the 7800GT SLI.

i don't think the x850 crossfire trade blows with 7800 gt sli because x850 crossfire only trade blows with a SINGLE 7800 gt and 7800 gtx

Thanks It just worries me buying something with no cust reviews its the same card but with 2 dvi.

I remember reading crossfire had really improved with the driver updates. I dunno if that applies to the x800 series cards or not though.

Actually, the X850XT PE, trade blows with the 7800GS, and often outperforms it, and the 7800GT is only marginally faster than the 7800GS. The X850 in Crossfire mode often outperforms the 7800 GS in SLI. But the 7800 GT in SLI trade blows with the X850, but in the overall, the 7800GT SLI is faster. Still not a significant showcase considering that the X850 is from the last generation, still doing great.

that is very interesting, but i wanna know where you got your source from?

i've looked over anandtech, firingsquad,...etc
but i really can't find any indication where x850xt is trading blows with 7800 gt sli

I'm sure he meant X850XT CrossFire.

A single card would be destroyed by the 7800GT SLI configuration.

At any rate, the Sapphire X850XT/PE is a fine card. For the price (IMHO) it is the best value out there right now. A 7600GT is a little better in some areas but unless you can get a rebate to get the price down you can't beat the deal.
