Sapphire x800

So far my highest stable clocks are 460 core 520mem, it will run higher but I get errors. I've seen quite a few x800 overclocks with the core over 500 and the mem over 600. Is it the stock cooling holding me back, or just a card that doesn't overclock as well as others? Thanks!

Sapphire x800 256MB DDR3 PCIe.

I have the same card, and my max stable OC is around 440 core, 490 mem. That mem is rated for 2ns (1ghz max), so I'm not sure how you got your's stable higher than 1ghz. But no way in hell would a x800 run 500/600 unless you did a voltmod and add some water cooling.

Maybe Futuremark's ORB page shows other cards as an X800 when its really somthing else, who knows... Guess I'm doin pretty good with my mem at 520 then, suppose I'm just lookin a gifthorse in the mouth 🙂

Are we talking Vanilla 800's? I can't get my sapphire above 441/371. Stock cooling, but I have 2 120 & 1 80mm fans in my case so it shouldn't be a case temp issue

I get my Sapphire X800GTO to 550Mhz Core and 550Mhz Mem .. havent tried unlocking the pipes yet ... i'm told it wont work but i still have hope. because at the end of the day hope is all we'v got 🙂 lol

I'm confused as to why my card is so fast. 😕 No-one seems to be getting as high as me: http://img407.imageshack.us/my.php?image=gto7bt.jpg
Though so far I have been unsucsessful at unlocking the last pipes.

OP... What are you using to overclock?
