it works... decided to get one... best price/perf for the stuff my kid does (selling his 800xl to one of his friends)... was going to go with the his card, but didn't want to do another $80 rebate... have a sapphire 9500 that unlocked and oc'd to > 9700pro and has been being heavily abused for >2 years...

might have gone for the cc 7900gt if it really ever existed...

Picked one up as well. 266 shipped via fedex rather than UPS, no rebates. Lots more than I wanted to spend for a video card, but I'm expecting it to last me at least 2 years.

I've been leaning towards the 7900 GT and doing the Volt mod/OC. But for this price, this is tought to pass up. If it were only 256, no way, but for the 512 version this is extremely tempting.

If you are not going to upgrade to another card within a year I would get the X1800 XT 512mb over the 7900GT. The extra ram will help out when games get more intensive.

Man I hope my evga 7900gt from stepup comes in this week so I can sell it and buy this. I have not been happy with the texture crawling I have seen with my 7800gt that I just stepped up from. I had x850xt Pe before the 7800gt and to me the image was alot better and way less jaggies even though on the 7800gt I could run 8x AA compared to only 6Xaa on the x850. Looks like if this deal holds while I sell my 7900gt I will have to get new crossfire mb as well. Great deal here only wish the crossfire edition cards were that cheap as well.

I think that's already the case. GR:AW will be released this week and the developer (GRIN) has said that putting textures on "high" won't even be an enabled option in the game unless you have a 512 MB card. It seems people have confirmed that with the demo, but until the retail version hits PC's it's hard to tell.

I picked one of these up as well - awesome deal and Newegg is splendid.

that's 256 megs, not 512

Unless you play 2048x1536 4x/16x, you're lucky to see a 2-3% performance gain in a few games.

Good question. I'd like to know this also and I can't seem to find the info on their site.

Looks like the $309 Sapphire is out of stock now. Glad I got in on this deal yesterday :)
